From FAL: Adventures in the Materiosphere. Partial description of Gage World…
Gage World is a lush, green world inhabited primarily by the clone species known as synphonial. Near the core of Gage World sits a powerful computer known as AIRM (Artificially Intelligent Resurrection Machine). AIRM is responsible for creating clone bodies (known as zoot soots) and storing the memories and personalities of the synphonial. Unfortunately, over five hundred years ago, AIRM’s program was corrupted and the machine became infatuated with an ancient form of entertainment called soap operas. AIRM began to create personalities based on the soap operas that corrupted the system and thus slowly began to change the synphonial into overly dramatic actors in a play designed to entertain AIRM itself. Today, Gage World is a relatively dramatic place full of backstabbing, dream sequences, and AIRM’s poorly planned plot devices that influence the lives of the synphonial.
