So, I thought I would talk a bit about my plans for Far Away Land moving forward. My goal is to begin to be more interactive on social media and on this site. Adventures in the Materiosphere will be releasing soon via Kickstarter and along with all of that, I really want to begin to release a lot of the content that has been in my own space for the last couple of years. This content will begin to be delivered via this site, in the wiki on this site, and via Patreon and YouTube. As of now, I release things only in a completely finished state and the entire nature of this long running project from the beginning was to be a lifelong effort to build a vast story within the FAL universe. I think it will be interesting to walk through the process of massive worldbuilding and let others participate and see what is happening.
The game was initially a way for me to make sense of the world, to create content within specific guidelines and to map out the construct of everything. With the release of AitM, a large chunk of this worldbuilding will have been accomplished and that will allow me to begin to delve into other areas of FAL, essentially focusing on smaller gaming supplements and creating narratives set in this universe. I feel that the game itself is an ever changing thing, a modifiable thing – the mechanics and rules at least. While I have no plans on revising large chunks of the rules or ever releasing a 2nd edition, I do hope that people take what has been provided as a foundation and run with it. My end goal in all of this is try and create an epic project that I work on throughout my life. These characters and stories and adventures are all things important to me. I have loads of notes and ideas and outlines and hundreds of pages in various levels of completeness as to what the story of this universe contains. It’s time that some of this started coming out to see the light of day. It needs to be consumed by others.
